We are pleased to announce our next Ship of Tolerance will take place in Thessaloniki in May of 2023!
Opening on May 17th, this iteration of the project will focus on celebrating the rich diversity in Greece, as well as work on strengthening the relationships between Greek children, refugee children recently arrived in Thessaloniki, and children from North Macedonia. Accompanying the raising of the sail will be a concert showcasing the talents of local and international children. The concert has been generously sponsored by David and Susan Rockefeller.
In addition to building the Ship of Tolerance on the Port of Thessaloniki, the Kabakovs will show their works on paper at Donopoulos International Fine Arts, opening on May 15th.
The project will involve strong social, educational, and art components, through a partnership with public and private schools, educational, and art organizations such as, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, Donopoulos International Fine Arts, the MOMus-Experimental Center for the Arts, the Papageorgiou Hospital, and Osten Art.
