The Ship of Tolerance continues its 20th anniversary tour in Samarkand, Uzbekistan! More than one thousand children from Fergana, Bukhara, Nukus, and Samarkand participated in workshops led by facilitators from the Nationwide Children’s Library. We thank the Library for their incredible leadership!

We also thank the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan, as well as the UNESCO General Conference, for their support of the Ship! The project will be featured in October at the UNESCO Junior Assembly, at which children will gather to discuss youth-led initiatives to address the climate crisis and other issues facing the world.

We are thrilled to announce the Ship of Tolerance will be docking next in Oakville, Ontario, in May of 2025! Over 2,000 students in the Halton-Peel region are participating in the workshops leading up to the raising of the sail on May 31st in Gairloch Gardens. Accompanying the opening ceremony is a children’s concert that will be free and open to the public, featuring young musicians and dancers from across the area. Thank you to the Oakville Conservatory of Music, W.H. Morden Public School, Lloyd S. King Elementary, City Dance Corps, and the Mississauga Festival Youth Choir for encouraging their students to participate! Check out the program here.
